JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: MECHANIC
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Perform assigned inspection, preventive maintenance, repair, and equipment operation to division vehicles in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner that is compliant with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate should possess a high school diploma or GED and a comprehensive combination of knowledge, education, and experience in vehicle maintenance for gasoline and diesel powered vehicles, preferably in a school environment. Candidate must possess, or be eligible and willing to possess, a valid commercial driver’s license and a vehicle inspection license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. An independent work ethic, exemplary work attendance, and attention to detail are highly desirable.

Twelve-month (12) contract, non- exempt FLSA status. Salary will be established annually by the School Board.
EVALUATION:
Job performance as Mechanic will be evaluated in accordance with School Board Policy and administrative regulations related to the evaluation of personnel.
